Hands-On Learning for Curious Young Scientists
Step into the fascinating world of pollination at this STEM-inspired kids’ workshop! Led by Ashley Fetterolf of the Edgewater Library, young learners will dive into a playful, hands-on exploration of how pollinators like bees help our ecosystems thrive.
Through interactive activities and guided creativity, participants will build, imagine, and experiment—all while discovering the science behind pollination.
What You’ll Do:
- Craft-Stick Bees – Make your own bee using craft sticks, pipe cleaners, and googly eyes
- Paper Plate Flowers – Design colorful flowers and learn why shape, size, and color matter
- Pollination Simulation – Use your bee to “pollinate” flowers in a vibrant Kool-Aid pollen activity
This energetic, story-rich experience blends science, art, and imagination to help children understand and appreciate the essential role pollinators play in nature. It’s a perfect fit for kids who love discovery, creativity, and a bit of messy fun.
