It’s disturbing that women choose to feel shitty.

This upsets me. The state of woman-kind, ugh. Let’s go ladies, time for a female empowerment movement.

Disclaimer before you continue reading all the blog posts that are about to be published:
a) I swear, it’s me. It’s not a lot, but they’re thrown in. If you don’t like curse words, stop reading. Your choice.
b) I am absolutely in love with women. My journey is to serve women to the best of my abilities so that we all can stand together in confidence, empowerment, trust, and love of our gorgeous bodies. So everything I say and do comes from love.
c) I’m tired of playing it safe for fear of pissing some people off. Good! Nothing ever comes of people who keep their mouths shut or go with the crowd. Things happen when individuals get fired up, passionate, expose a new perspective, support the underdog. You with me on this movement?

Onward.

Here’s some facts that I find important and disturbing:

1 in 3 births are c-section (most often unnecessary)
60% of the US population is overweight or obese

Why do these matter? As a personal trainer for pregnant women, they matter a WHOLE lot because they tell me that women aren’t choosing their bodies. They’re not saying YES to things that make them FEEL good and they’re allowing other people to tell them what they need.

Did you know that women are the leaders of the community? Because we’re bad ass and can do anything? Well what happens when 60% of the women are overweight and obese and feel like shit? What happens to our communities? Our families? They also go to shit. Yes. That’s a lot of weight on our shoulders but WE BARE CHILDREN! We got this! We hold up our families for a reason. And we are actively choosing to feel shitty, unhappy, lacking energy and confidence. No wonder c-section rates are so high. Doctors are doing what’s convenient and safe FOR THEM. Not for you. Not what’s necessary. Your body knows how to birth. Listen to it.

It also knows what it wants for energy and to thrive. And it ain’t found in boxes and bags and drive thrus hunny.

Once you start respecting your body for all that it’s beautifully capable of, it’ll stop having horrible menstrual cramps or severe headaches. Once you start eating food that respects the processes of what your body has to do, it’ll start feeling better, more energized. When you drink more water, that acne will disappear. Maybe even some cellulite will diminish once you add some exercise.

And if you don’t know what to do to feel GOOD. Ask a professional. That’s what the next post is about.

Dedicated to your happiness,

Colleen
