The Inverted & Healthier Food Pyramid

I thought this was a fabulous visual because it is so extremely true. Through the years, I always found it hard to consume 6-11 servings of breads/pastas/starches. And think about it, do we really want to? No.

Why? Because breads/pastas/starches are the things humans cut back on to lose weight, stop the bloat, & increase energy.  Excess servings of carbohydrates cause the body to store the calories as fat which causes rapid weight gain.  That’s why the pyramid on the right is inverted so that breads/pastas/starches are on the 0-1 servings and protein/vegetables/fruits are at the top.

A body full of a variety of vegetables, nuts, proteins, & some fruit will have more energy, look & feel more healthy, and have the ability to lose weight & build lean muscle faster.

As a momma-to-be, you and baby need wholesome, nutritious food that will fuel your body and allow optimal growth for your babe! So choose the inverted triangle for superior nutrition for you and your future children!
