oh wow soreness
I didn’t work out for a month.
Yes. Truth.
My body does this funny thing of focusing on the important things and disliking things that will take my attention/strength/energy away from said important things. Does yours?
For example, I didn’t work out for a month surrounding Thanksgiving. Like 1.5 weeks before and 2.5 weeks after. I had heavy things on my heart. Important decisions to make. Career changing events that had not yet come to fruition until December 1st! But something was there the whole time. I listened to my body. Much to my own sacrifice I will add. My hip flexors are mad tight, upper back hurts from hunching over on my computer despite my will power to sit up straight, my legs cramp, I didn’t my usual energy, or happy glow. I was a hot mess. I was burdened.
I’m obsessed with The Fire Starter Sessions and keep coming back to a concept that states for positive things to come sometimes you have to just sit back and not rush. You will FEEL what’s necessary. You will FEEL when it’s the right time to move forward. Or just hang still. I have never felt more in tune with path. I laid the foundation in 2012 and now my dreams are being built! It feels…..easy. 🙂 Easy because it’s my passion, it’s not work. It’s enjoyable. Time flies when I’m working on my business and figuring out how to help others.
FINALLY, I felt motivated and good about hitting the gym hard and getting back in a routine. I feel confident. Excited. I’m now oh so sore from two days of heavy lifting. Sometimes in life we just have to go with the flow and forget feeling guilty for not taking top notch care of ourselves. In the long run, we’ll be better off listening to our bodies.
Has you taken a siesta from exercise for any amount of time when an important decision was upon you? What happens to you when you’re ‘stressed’ or something demands your attention and energy? Please share!
