Oh I’m sore.
For the first time in my life, amidst my soreness on Saturday, I thought that the workout wasn’t worth this immobility and pain putting on my socks. Whoa. Hold up! Let’s talk about thoughts and how we don’t have to invest emotions into them. This one made me stop and contemplate.
I haven’t worked out days in a row consistently for a long time. Since April long time. When I trained Thursday and then Friday last week, Saturday and Sunday were ROUGH! I was sore.
It’s the love/hate relationship with exercise that is so hard to explain to people when they’re new. As long as you KEEP GOING, it’ll get better. I promise! This was the pep talk I had with myself on Saturday when the aforementioned thought came across my consciousness.
It sucks. It sucks to be more. It sucks to me IN the workout, sweating, working, diving deep for the energy to complete the rep.
The pay off though….the pay off! All the benefits of exercise that impact you short and long term. Movement effects so much from our brain to every cell in our body, to hormones to immunity. Not only is our strength and functionality boosted, our entire being is up-leveling. We’re closer to the best version of ourself. Through appropriate movement and a whole foods diet, we are our best, most joyful. YES!
Soreness be damned. I want joy and longevity!
