In this episode we go deep, a little dark and talk about something that we feel needs to be talked about more….miscarriages. Joy speaks on her own experience of loss through miscarriage and her journey through it.

Colleen goes over the percentages of cases of miscarriage, though it’s actually a common occurrence its rarely openly talked about.

We touched base on the isolation that can happen surrounding a miscarriage and talked about some resources that are out there to offer support to those who have gone (or are going through) this hard time.

“The isolation is huge,” said Karen Rivers, director of The Solace Foundation, a non-profit that connects parents who experienced the loss of a pregnancy or infant to support resources. “It’s not something that’s talked about, because it makes people uncomfortable, and it makes people sad. My hope is that we’re getting better in terms of awareness, but I think it’s still largely taboo.”

If you or someone you love has gone/going though a miscarriage, remember you are not alone and if you need it… there is help and someone you can talk to. Process how you need to and let yourself feel what you feel without shame. Shame shared cant survive.
