Make Your Own Halloween Treats!

My favorite food blog, Oh She Glows, featured a few simple, candy recipes to kick off this holiday season! As we all know, Halloween marks the beginning of sweets and treats! Thanksgiving brings us pies and Christmas brings cookies. So how bout switching out the old white sugar laden recipes for ingredients with healthier, simpler recipes that make treats that are easy on the body.

Angela caught my attention with Homemade Rolo knockoffs & Vegan KitKat Bars but while browsing I saw what I was destined to create….Gluten Free Peppermint Patties (from Elana’s Pantry). Anything that involves mint – I’m in.

Not to mention this recipe has 3 ingredients. 3! Coconut Oil, Honey, Chocolate chips. My parents are beekeepers so I have plenty of honey, we keep chocolate chips in the house (pancake lovers), and I had been wanting to buy more coconut oil so it was all good. Yes, I went to Wegman’s during a state-of-emergency and got really wet. But it was worth the risk for these bad boys.

Holy Moly. I was NOT prepared for them to taste THIS fabulous. Sure they don’t LOOK amazing….but looks don’t always count.
